Making Peace with (Machine) Piecing

Having become intrigued with designing my own quilt blocks, I have had to make peace with piecing. This includes calculating and recalculating the size of the block, the use of templates, rotary cutting with templates, and auditioning fabrics with both color and value in mind.

In this class, students will take a complex block designed by the instructor and tackle its construction. We will discuss how to visualize the order of piecing, matching seams, sewing curves and other piecing issues. Bring lots of fabric bits to have a wide range of color and value choices.
